Step into the imaginative world of Horacio Quiroga, one of Latin America’s most iconic short story writers. For our June session, we will read and discuss three of his most compelling works: “El almohadón de plumas” (The Feather Pillow), “La miel silvestre” (Wild Honey), and “Los pescadores de vigas” (Fishermen).

Facilitated by Dr. María Ignacia Barraza, this session invites readers to explore Quiroga’s unique blend of psychological tension and raw nature. Whether you are familiar with his writing or discovering it for the first time, you will find plenty to unpack and reflect on together.

This is a welcoming space to connect, read, and exchange ideas with others who share a love for literature. No previous experience with Latin American literature is necessary. Just bring your curiosity! The stories are available in Spanish and English translation. The discussion will be in English.

This will be our last session of the season. We will take a break for the summer and return in September with more great stories and conversation. Have a wonderful summer and see you in the fall!
