Voices of Self-love Exhibition
December 4 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Voices of Self-Love is a group exhibition that celebrates the powerful journey of self-love through stories of acceptance, belonging, nurture, and transformation. This past April, twelve Latin American women gathered at a local community center to participate in creative writing, painting, and sculpture workshops, courageously sharing their personal stories of self-discovery.
Inspired by these moving narratives, twelve talented local artists have brought each story to life through their art, capturing the essence of self-love, healing, and empowerment. This exhibit aims to uplift women and foster meaningful connections among those on similar journeys of growth.
VLACC is thrilled to collaborate with La Libélula to bring this unique showcase to the Britannia Art Gallery. Together, we’re celebrating the beauty of self-love and community through art. Join us in honouring these voices and witness the transformative power of creativity.

About La Libélula Cooperative
La Libélula Cooperative was born out of our desire to connect with other migrants from Latin America. We began by creating spaces for connection, but were drawn to a number of questions about Latin American communities in British Columbia.
For example: How many are we? Where are we? What do we do? What do we want? Who are we? What brings us together? What do we need? One thing we know for sure is that none of these questions have simple or singular answers. We know there are many gaps in the information available about Latin American communities living in British Columbia. Through La Libélula Cooperative we want to contribute to conversations about Latin American representation in British Columbia to increase inclusivity and opportunity for Latin Americans living here.
