VLACC is the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre, a nonprofit organization established in 2012 in Vancouver, B.C., that celebrates cultural diversity by sharing Latin American culture with all.

Most of our programs are presented in English, and admission is often free. Our activities encompass concerts, visual arts, author readings and discussions, youth and kids activities, choral singing and more. We are working on building a physical hub for Latin American artists and audiences, to celebrate the increasing importance of the Latin American community in Canada.

SUMMARY
The Executive Assistant, Operations & Marketing, works under the guidance of the Executive Director and closely with the Operations Coordinator to support the operational, planning, and administrative functions of VLACC’s programming, upkeep of tracking documents, supporting fundraising and marketing actions and reports.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, ASSETS
•High school degree.
•Experience in working or volunteering in arts and culture events is desirable.
• Capable to interact with respect and kindness in a diverse environment.
• Customer service experience is desirable.
• A knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is desirable.
• A background and interest in Latin American arts and cultures is desirable.
• Proficiency using Google Workspace. Other desirable software and applications’ knowledge: Asana, Square, Canva, Eventbrite, SurveyMonkey, WordPress, Flickr, Adobe Suite, CRM database.
JOB DESCRIPTION
•The Executive Assistant works by task on a range of projects, including fundraising, research, event planning, copy editing, marketing, and digital development. Tasks are usually administrative and can be done from home or from the VLACC office at 1885 Venables St, Vancouver.
• Assists in the delivery of online programs and a few in-person programs in Vancouver and metropolitan area.
• Conducts research and creates reports on various topics based on the needs of the E.D.
• Represents VLACC in meetings
• Keeps important information and documents organized physically and electronically.
• Keeps calendars up-to-date, including scheduling meetings and sending reminders. Takes meetings’ notes, generates tasks from notes.
This is a student position; the applicant should provide proof of student status and enrolment. Sorry, no international students dues to the constraints of the subsidy.
HOURS, WAGES
This position is a 6-month contract, from August 1st, 2022, to January 31st, 2023
20 hours per week.
$18 per hour on payroll (bi-weekly payment)
Hybrid in-person/remote position. Availability for working some evenings and weekends is desirable.
