A Celebration of Latin American Heritage Month

Latin Expressions is VLACC’s commemoration of Latin American artistic achievement during the month of October, Canada’s Latin American Heritage Month. We place artists at the forefront of cultural expression in film, dance, literature, music, visual arts and theatre events developed in partnership with some of the city’s leading arts groups.

We’ve got an incredible 2024 lineup of events featuring Film, Music, Visual Arts, Dance, and Literature – all showcasing the heart and soul of Latin culture.This year, we have two special highlights:

We will host a special gala screening of five mini-documentaries, spotlighting the work and journey of local Latin American artists. Re:Location Season 2 takes place on Thursday, October 10, at VIFF Centre.

Colombian singer and composer Lido Pimienta will take the stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Sunday, October 13. If you don’t know Lido yet, don’t miss this opportunity to witness one of the best representatives of Latin American culture in Canada. And if you already know Lido, you won’t want to miss this!
