LATIN EXPRESSIONS 2025
A Celebration of Latin American Heritage Month
Latin Expressions is VLACC’s annual commemoration of Latin American artistic achievement during October, Canada’s Latin American Heritage Month. Since 2012, VLACC has placed artists at the forefront of cultural expression, creating spaces where music, dance, film, literature, and visual arts bring communities together.
This year’s festival features eight unique events across the city, including concerts, dance parties, film premieres, author readings, visual art tours, and theatre. Highlights include a lively Opening Night featuring Mazacote and DJ Diana Mulata, the Vancouver premiere of Vessels by Cuban artist Yaimel López at Emily Carr University, a Community Milonga at the Vancouver Playhouse, and the world premiere of Carmen Aguirre’s Fire Never Dies: The Tina Modotti Project at The Cultch.
