Faces Of VLACC:Ana Paula Rocha Couto

Meet Ana Paula Rocha Couto, an educator, marketing strategist and consultant from Brazil. Throughout the years, she has volunteered with VLACC, contributing to our multifaceted programming and the promotion of Latin American arts and culture in Vancouver. Currently, she is part of our incredible board of directors and is grateful to give back to the community by sharing with us over 25 years of marketing expertise.

For Ana Paula, our organization helps her feel connected to her roots and provides her with the opportunity to learn more about the various cultures from her region of origin. She describes the role of VLACC as a mediator that “allows people who are not familiar with Latin America to learn and enjoy its diversity, while also giving Latin Americans a place to feel at home and represented.” Through this rich cross-cultural approach, VLACC has profoundly inspired both her personal and professional life.

One example of this influence is her ongoing project as a mentor supporting immigrant women who own small businesses. Ana Paula offers them valuable insight on how to communicate about their enterprise with confidence and clarity. She employs her cultural perspective as an asset that enriches her work as educator and consultant.
