About the Facilitators

Ana Lorena Perez moved from Ecuador to Canada in 2014, bringing with her an academic background in family therapy and educational counselling. Shortly after arriving, she became actively involved in community programs that support Spanish-speaking families with young children, first as a volunteer and later as a staff member. Through this work, she discovered a passion for children’s music, puppetry, and sharing Latin American culture.

In 2022, she honed her skills as a puppeteer with the support of Neworld Theatre. In 2023, Ana took the stage as one of the puppeteers for the show Division Infinity Saves The World (Neworld), blending her love for art with her commitment to community engagement.

Rocio Quevedo was born in the Sonoran Desert and has been living in Canada for more than a decade. She has had the fortune to live in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, and Winnipeg. As a lover of nature and a former ESL teacher, she is passionate about learning more about culture, languages, and the things that connect us, such as dance and movement. This passion has led her down many different paths in life, including a career as a dance instructor and performer. She currently works as a Family Programmer and Volunteer Coordinator in a non-profit organization.

Karen Morales is a Mexican artist and designer who recently moved to Vancouver to begin her Master’s in Design at Emily Carr University. With experience as a nanny and a background in architecture and art, she enjoys creating fun and imaginative moments for children through face painting and hands-on activities. She brings warmth, colour, and a friendly community spirit to every family event.
