Drum Circle Time with Toto

May 27, 2020 @ 12:00 am

Tertulia Jam with Israel (Toto) Berriel

This event is on VLACC’s Facebook page on May 13th and 27th, at 11am: www.facebook.com/vlacc

Toto explores the percussion potential of simple household objects while showing some of the main Latin American beats.

The essence and magic of rhythm communicated on drums and percussion instruments cut through all ages, sexes, religions, races and cultures. “Rhythm,” as Gabriel Roth says, “is the mother tongue.” Rhythm is a collective language known to everyone, even the youngest child. So in a very objective, yet beautiful way, an interactive rhythm experience puts us all on an equal footing with each other and brings us closer together. As we play together, we give ourselves a rhythmical massage, and emotional release and a healing.

On May 13th and 27th tune in to our Facebook page to watch Toto explore the percussion potential of simple household objects while showing some of the main Latin American beats. No previous experience or knowledge is required. This is a fun workshop, where everyone can be as loud as they want! Join in the noise-making and be ready for the Health Worker’s pot-banging with Latin American flair!
