Latin American Short Stories Reading Group – June

VLACC is pleased to announce our first collaboration with the World Languages and Literatures Department at SFU for June’s Latin American Short Stories Reading Group session.
Join us on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 pm, in the Conference Room of Britannia Community Centre (1661 Napier St) for a discussion on the stories “Guatemala,” “Now That I Recall,” and “Treasure” by the Guatemalan author Miguel Ángel Asturias as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death.
This time, SFU professor María Ignacia Barraza will facilitate the conversation about the stories.

The stories are available in both the original Spanish version and English translation. Discussions will be led in English. No background in Latin American literature or culture is required.
