Latin American Short Stories Reading Group | October

We look forward to seeing you on Zoom this October 12th! VLACC is pleased to present, in partnership with UBC’s Latin American Studies program, a reading group open to anyone interested in short stories written by Latin American authors. On October 12th, Tamara Mitchell, Assistant Professor, Spanish at the University of British Columbia, will present and facilitate discussion of these stories: “Guatemala 1954: Funeral for a Bird” by Arturo Arias (Guatemala) and “Cinderella’s Secret Dream” by Ena Lucia Portela (Cuba). The stories are in English translations. Discussions will also be led in English. No background in Latin American literature or culture is required.
