Open Doors to Art – Studio Visit with Arianna Garcia-Fialdini
March 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join us for a virtual studio visit with Arianna Garcia-Fialdini on March 11th at 2:00 pm (PST). This session is part of our ongoing series “Open Doors to Art.”
Have you ever wondered what an artist studio looks like? How artworks are selected to be a part of an exhibition? What type of art Latin Americans are making today?
In partnership with Curated Tastes, VLACC has selected Latin American artists and spaces in Canada. These artists and spaces are opening their doors to us for event series “Open Doors to Art.” We’d like to take you in and share the intimate experience that it is to visit an artist studio, the private spaces of a gallery or to have a guided visit of current exhibitions.
The Open Doors to Art – Studio visit with Arianna Garcia-Fialdini session is a fun interactive event where everyone is invited to contribute their opinions. It includes a 5-minute breakout room activity where attendants are paired to discuss a question related to the evening’s theme.
About Arianna Garcia-Fialdini
Working predominantly in paint and print media, Garcia-Fialdini’s research/studio practice concentrates on translating diverse oral histories of hopes/justice movements into multi-modal images that agitate and inspire.
Working closely with issues raising awareness on social change/gender violence, she explores the conditions of women, immigrants and refugee claimants while observing and commenting on social realities.
Garcia-Fialdini is presently a Doctoral candidate at Concordia University, Montreal in the Department of Art Education. Her teaching and studio practice aim to serve as an alternative platform from which to reach and project marginalized voices and stories.
