Faces Of VLACC: Alexandra Lainfiesta
Meet Alexandra Lainfiesta, an award-winning actress and writer originally from Guatemala. Alexandra immigrated to Canada in 2010 to study at the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Ever since graduating from this institution, she has continued to develop her craft by working with Canadian arts and theatre companies across the country, including The Stratford Festival, Arts Club Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Bard on the Beach, Freewill Shakespeare, Rice&Beans, and others.
For Alexandra, VLACC represents a space that uplifts and supports her work and that of her dear colleagues. It also fosters dialogue and enriches Vancouver’s cultural tapestry. Furthermore, she shares the following regarding our organization’s contribution to her trajectory: “VLACC’s spotlight on community and cultural affirmation has elevated both my sense of belonging and purpose in Vancouver’s art scene.”
Language plays a big role in Alexandra’s work and in keeping her connected to her culture. Like many of us, it is common to find her mixing English and Spanish at the rehearsals. She is proud of her Guatemalan slang and shares it with fellow Central Americans and with immigrants from other regions of Latin America.
She is currently working on three projects: A Doll’s House with Arts Club Theatre Company (September 10th to October 5th), CHULA, her first one-woman show, and her first full-length show, Bella Luz, which will be read in January 2026 as part of Ruby Slippers’ Advanced Reading Series.
Support Alexandra at the Arts Club Theatre and follow her @alelainfiesta!
