Faces Of VLACC: Caio Dias

Meet Caio Dias de Moraes, a volunteer and practicum student currently acting as VLACC’s Marketing Assistant. Originally from the city of Cuiabá in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, he moved to Canada a year and a half ago with his wife. Even though Caio is new to the community, he has felt embraced by our organization and connected with our shared passion for the arts, as he considers himself an artist and believes in its power to transform lives. “Art can truly shape someone’s future. That’s why I believe VLACC is so important to the community,” shares Caio.

At the moment, he is working on his most important project yet a book titled The Five: Rafael’s Awakening. Caio’s writing is mostly inspired by series and films, although some of his literary models include Brazilian writers Paulo Coelho, Clarice Lispector, and Gabriel Rosário. The story narrated in his book follows a teenager who begins to experience mysterious powers and strange visions. As he uncovers his family’s hidden truths, he discovers he is part of an ancient battle between powerful legions. This work explores themes of identity, destiny, and inner strength all central to Caio’s creative vision.

We’re proud to have Caio as part of the VLACC community and look forward to seeing the impact of his work in the years to come.
