Social Media Content Writer

The Social Media Content Writer will work to write well-researched and engaging content for VLACC’s social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. This volunteer works closely with VLACC’s social media ,team to create content that is relevant to our programming and marketing campaigns.

This is a 3-5 hour/week virtual (online) position. An extra 1-2 hours a week might be required to attend VLACC’s events or extra meetings (on Zoom). We require a minimum of 4 months’ commitment renewable for another term.

Qualifications

  • Marketing student or recent graduate
  • Experience with social media writing and best practices
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Google Drive suite and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for Latin American arts and culture
  • Experience working with Asana, or other project management tools, is an asset
  • Access to a computer and reliable internet connection Language English, fluent (written & spoken) (Required) Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset Duties and Deliverables
  • Participates in weekly meetings with the Marketing team.
  • Writes well-researched and engaging copy, on-brand and aligned with VLACC’s mandate.
  • Writes compelling Facebook Ads that encourage the reader to take action.
  • Research and generate hashtags relevant to our organization.

Location Vancouver, BC (Required). This is a remote volunteer position. Please add with your application two to three work samples you are proud of. Please note that this is a non-paid volunteer position.
