Lili Vieira de Carvalho is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre (VLACC). Originally from Brazil, she immigrated to Vancouver in 2008 and brings more than 30 years of experience in arts management, cultural programming, and community engagement.

At VLACC, Lili has been instrumental in transforming the organization into a key voice for Latin American arts in Vancouver. She has led major capacity-building efforts, strengthened fundraising and governance systems, expanded partnerships with leading cultural institutions, and guided VLACC through multi-year strategic planning and organizational growth. Under her leadership, programs such as Latin Expressions, Canto Vivo, Re:Location, and Punto de Encuentro have flourished, amplifying the work of local Latin American artists and expanding community access to the arts.

Beyond VLACC, Lili serves as spokesperson for the Citizen Council of the Consulate General of Brazil in Vancouver. In 2025, the Government of Brazil awarded her the Ordem do Rio Branco medal for her contributions to cultural exchange and leadership within the Brazilian diaspora.

Her work champions equity, cultural understanding, and meaningful representation, ensuring that Latin American voices have a vibrant and lasting place in Canada’s cultural landscape.
