About Yaimel
Cuban artist with more than 10-year experience in graphic design and illustration, Yaimel has been working in Cuba with institutions such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, La Casa de Las Américas, and the Cuban Institute of Cinema. Since making Vancouver his new home, he has been involved in projects with Burnaby neighbourhood House, Watari Counselling & Support Services Society, and VLAFF. His artistic focus includes editorial design and illustrations for magazines, books, and social media, poster design for cultural events, logos, infographics and motion graphics. In addition to his designer-illustrator career, Yaimel’s personal artwork has been exhibited in Cuba, New Zeeland and the United States as part of group exhibitions.
