Re:Location Season 2 profiles five talented Latin American artists as they navigate the complexities of their careers while staying connected to their cultural roots. Each short documentary offers an intimate look at their challenges and triumphs, reflecting on how their experiences in Canada have shaped their artistic identities.
A new documentary will be released monthly on our YouTube channel, featuring mid-career Latin American artists as they share their journeys, challenges, and strengths.
In the second episode, meet Vancouver-based Cuban visual artist and graphic designer Yaimel López. His work spans animation, illustration, editorial design, branding, and poster design and has been published in magazines and books. Yaimel’s art has been featured in exhibitions across the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Cuba, individually and in group showcases.
This compelling 10-minute documentary explores Yaimel’s inspiring journey as an immigrant artist, offering insights into his creative process and the challenges of building a career in Canada.
