Screen Printing – Paper Printmaking Series with Yaimel López

Join Vancouver-based Cuban artist Yaimel Lopez for this exciting introductory screen printing program. Students will learn to make stencils and use them to create compositions and typography. They will continue on their skills over the weeks to create posters, and prints. Yaimel also likes to show how these illustrations can be made into animations and he shares his teachings throughout the weeks. Materials cost included in the fees.
When: Every Saturday from July 8 to August 26, 2023 (8 sessions)

Short Bio Yaimel Lopez
Cuban artist based in Vancouver, where he works as an artist and graphic designer. With more than ten years of experience, his work has been published in magazines and books. His professional projection also includes animation, illustration, editorial design and branding. His work has been exhibited in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Cuba as part of collective and individual exhibits.
Since 2019 when He moves to Canada, Yaimel has been collaborating as an artist with several Vancouver organizations, such as Vancouver Foundation, Vancouver Latin-American Cultural Centre (VLACC), and Vancouver Latin-American Film Festival (VLAFF).
He recently hosted the exhibition Café Volumen 1 at the BAG
